Description

SAIC is seeking a **Engineering Technician I** in **North Charleston, SC** .

Job Responsibilities:

+ Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly

+ Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions

+ Construct components, subunits, or simple models, adapt standard equipment, and troubleshoot system failures through various skill methods to correct malfunctions

+ Conduct routine repair, retrofit, systems integration, calibration and testing; in-line repair and testing; operation of test equipment

+ Assist in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

+ High School Diploma with zero (0) years of related experience doing any of the following: integration, manufacturing; or maintenance.

+ Ability to safely complete all of the physical demands of the job in a manufacturing environment, including but not limited to the following:

+ Lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis

+ Walking, bending, stooping, sitting, standing or squatting for extended periods

+ Repeatedly manipulating and handling tools needed for installing electrical components, Mechanical parts and metal work into vehicles. Familiar with the use and operation of power tools is necessary

+ Move and arrange cable supplies and electronic equipment

Desired Experience:

+ Experience with cable fabrication

Required Clearance:

+ Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Public Trust security clearance. Active clearances accepted
