An RN Homecare in this role will service the upper Submit and lower Cuyahoga counties, covering part of Cleveland's east region. Your work will vary slightly from routine nursing care, as you will focus on following up on labs, coordinating with care teams, assessing patient charts and verifying insurance. Cleveland Clinic Home Care provides a generous in-depth orientation tailored to your needs and experience, so you can seamlessly transition into this level of work.
A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM - 5:00PM, with every fourth weekend and one winter/holiday requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Provide direct nursing care.
+ Perform accurate and complete admission assessments and reassessments within a specified time frame.
+ Assess patients for safety risks, abuse and neglect.
+ Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
+ Assess, document, prioritize and manage patients' pain.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing
+ Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
+ Valid Ohio Driver's (VDL) license upon hire and per policy 8-175 thereafter
+ Proof of $100,000/$300,000 automobile insurance coverage upon hire and per policy 8-175 thereafter
+ One year of current experience as an RN
+ One year of experience in an acute Medical/Surgical or Home Care setting
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
+ Familiarity with complex medical treatments
+ Experience working in homecare, med/surg, ICU and/or ED areas

Physical Requirements:
+ Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
+ Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
+ Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
+ Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
+ Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
+ Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
+ Must be ambulatory and able to drive to patients' homes, able to climb stairs, pull, push, and facilitate movement of the patient.
+ Must be able to read, write and communicate with patients.
Personal Protective Equipment:
+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
