    Develops, coordinates and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments \(doe\) constructs\. Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability\. Compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes\. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards\. Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives\. May develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks\. As necessary, proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability\. May determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing, and specifies minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data\.

     

    Specific Job

    This Reliability Engineer role will include a wide variety of reliability engineering tasks and activities for the Apache M\-TADS/PNVS and FCR programs:

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Performing Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System \(FRACAS\) on M\-TADS/PNVS and FCR hardware\.

    • Conducting Root Cause Corrective Action \(RCCA\) investigations and presenting results to management and customer\.

    • Providing Line Replaceable Module \(LRM\) and piece\-part reliability support, including associated drawing reviews, repair review boards, and failure review boards\.

    • Supporting failure investigation teams and developing reliability / probabilistic assessments based on root cause of failures\.

     

    As a Reliability Engineer, you will spend much of your time working in a team environment, obtaining inputs from other engineers, performing analyses, and creating presentations / reports\. There may be some travel\. You will interact with engineers, suppliers, quality, production operations, program managers, and customers\. The ideal candidate will be self\-motivated, self\-driven, and can multitask as needed\.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Possess strong computer skills, including in\-depth knowledge of MS Office software

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Systems Engineering, or related discipline

    • Experience with reliability principles and practices

    • Understanding of root cause analysis

    • Analytical thinker with a demonstrated ability of solving complex problems, and strict attention to detail; effective analytical and problem\-solving skills; ability to perform detail\-oriented work with a high accuracy within requested timelines

    • Strong technical writing skills for the preparation of plans and reports, and strong verbal communication skills for customer presentations

    • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

    Desired Skills:

    • Experience in Reliability, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering

    • Reliability prediction experience in accordance with industry standards \(e\.g\. MIL\-HDBK\-217, empirical test data, etc\.\)

    • Knowledge and experience with probability, statistical concepts, and mathematical modelling

    • Strong interpersonal skills\. Ability to work in a collaborative and team\-based environment

    • Active Secret clearance

    **Security Clearance Statement:** This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration\.

    **Ability to Work Remotely:** Part\-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility\. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process\.

    **Work Schedules:** Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits\.

    **Schedule for this Position:** 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
