JOB SUMMARY

The Treasury Analyst supports the Treasury Department in managing all aspects of cash operations and administration of investment programs, in accordance with established policies and banking practices. Performs essential banking operations, cash and treasury operations, short term borrowing and payments, and credit and collections. Processes day ahead, congestion revenue rights and real time settlement activities. Monitors compliance with Treasury Department goals.

JOB DUTIES

+ Understands the basic principles, theories and concepts related to the profession and learns how to apply them within the ERCOT culture.

+ Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES

Level 1

+ Processes day ahead, congestion revenue rights and real time settlement activities to meet critical daily deadlines

+ Prepares daily cash transaction summary

+ Makes routine daily investment/borrowing decisions, and escalates issues to management when necessary

+ Assists with audits under the direction of the Lead Treasury Analyst

+ Assists the Lead with the treasury month end close process and helps ensures accounts are reconciled and variances researched

+ Provides input to help improve treasury policies, procedures and controls

+ Coordinates wire transfers and cash transfers between accounts

+ Takes an active role in preparation of cash budgets

+ Analyzes balance sheet accounts and provides other analysis as needed

+ Reviews bank account analysis statements

+ Prepares journal entries to record cash activity; posts cash receipts activity

Level 2

+ Makes independent business decisions except in instances of unusually complex business scenarios

+ Trains and mentors less experienced co-workers assigned by Lead

+ Directs cash management operations to include daily cash administration and management of investments. Ensures investments are completed as defined in the Investment Standard

+ Prepares weekly cash flow forecasts and identifies and evaluates variances

+ Independently performs bank account analysis statement review and analysis. Reviews daily bank activity and researches variances

+ Key contributor in audit inquiries and ensuring they are completed in a timely manner

+ Plays a key role in the treasury month end close process and ensures accounts are reconciled with variances researched

+ Builds strong professional relationships both internally and externally

+ Demonstrates skills as a proficient user of client server treasury systems, spreadsheet programs, and database programs

+ Maintains regular communication with the management team, providing relevant fiscal information to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements

EXPERIENCE

+ Requires minimum 2 years job related work experience in excess of degree requirements

EDUCATION

+ Bachelor's Degree : Accounting, Finance or related field (Required)

+ or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required

CERTIFICATION

+ CTP Certified Treasury Professional (Preferred)

Expected Salary Range:

$68,471 - $112,954
