    Position Status: Regular full-time

    Job Description:

    Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Competitive Sports, the coordinator administers all aspects of Intramural Sports and Club Sports, including training and mentoring club sports officers and student officials, budget and policy management, travel and event planning, participant eligibility, coaches, risk management and program planning and scheduling. The coordinator works with campus and community partners to develop new relationships, initiatives, policies, and procedures.

     

    Day-to-day functions are accomplished with minimal guidance or supervision in accordance with established policies and directives. Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, acquires and maintains certifications, develops professional contacts with colleagues, and attends professional development courses.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; experience in developing and operating a recreation program; certification in CPR & First Aid; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    Preferred Education & Experience:

    + Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Recreation Management, Student Affairs or related field

    + One to three (1-3) years of directly related intramural sports or club sports experience within a collegiate recreation program.

    + Current certification and officiating experience with NFHS .

    + Current certification as American Red Cross CPR / AED /First Aid Instructor.

    + Current membership in one or more of the following organizations: NIRSA , NFHS , NASO .

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    + Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and positively with a wide range of constituencies.

    + Must have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective, working relationships. Exceptional customer service orientation is essential.

    + Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems as well as devise solutions. Must also be able to work independently as well as to work collaboratively.

    + Candidate must possess strong organizational, planning, and time management skills with the ability to manage concurrent projects and handle multiple priorities at once. Must also have a strong focus on attention to detail. Strong project management skills are essential.

    + Experience with Microsoft 365, Do Sports Easy, and IMLeagues.
