Position Information
The Marketing Copywriter is a dynamic writer and content creator on the Content Marketing Expert Team within the Texas A&M AgriLife Marketing and Communications. This role blends storytelling with strategy by crafting compelling marketing and content across platforms including web, video, digital ads, social media and email newsletters. They are responsible for developing bold, engaging copy that sparks curiosity and drives action. This position brings creativity, punchy writing and an understanding of what hooks audiences. This team member adapts messaging across platforms, collaborates with cross-functional teams and writes with flair while maintaining clarity, brand voice and strategic purpose.
Responsibilities:
Marketing & Editorial Writing
+ Write marketing content, including features, campaign stories, social captions, headlines, ad copy and promotional web blurbs with a strong focus on creativity, clarity and performance.
+ Create and distribute of the AgriLife Today newsletter, ensuring it is timely, compelling and aligned with strategic goals.
+ Write copy that inspires interest, drive conversions and connect with public audiences.
+ Adapt content across formats and platforms, optimizing for engagement, scannability, SEO and tone.
+ Write and edit with an eye for precision, persuasive messaging and emotional impact.
Platform Collaboration & Content Execution
+ Partner with social media, web, video and editorial teams to develop copy that performs across channels and enhances the user experience.
+ Support strategy creation and create copy for integrated marketing campaigns, including headlines, taglines and cross-platform messaging.
+ Assist with content testing, A/B messaging and optimization based on performance data and feedback.
+ Review and edit marketing and promotional content to maintain brand voice and quality standards.
Unit Liaison & Content Strategy Support
+ Serve as a content partner to assigned AgriLife units, helping surface ideas, translate impact into content opportunities and align messaging with goals.
+ Stay informed on unit developments and work with partners to bring forward timely, high-interest content that drives awareness and engagement.
Other Duties as Assigned
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Two years of related experience.
+ Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
+ Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
What You Need to Know
Salary: Pay grade 9. Compensation for this position is commensurate based on the selected candidate’s qualifications.
