    Our client, a leading technology company, is seeking a Product Design Engineer to join their team. As a Product Design Engineer, you will be part of the engineering department supporting innovative product development. The ideal candidate will have a high degree of motivation, excellent communication skills, and strong design intelligence which will align successfully in the organization.

     

    **Job Title:** Product Design Engineer

    **Location:** Cupertino, CA (Hybrid schedule, working 3 days onsite: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; Remote: Monday and Friday)

     

    What's the Job?

     

    + Provide design support for iPad products using 2D and 3D CAD to communicate design intent, inspection requirements, and test methods.

    + Develop deep technical knowledge in areas outside your realm of expertise to understand other teams’ design constraints and craft creative solutions to technical problems.

    + Collaborate with outside vendors and internal manufacturing experts to optimize designs for function, aesthetic, and manufacturability.

    + Engage in tolerance and stress analysis, electro-mechanical integration, and design for high volume manufacturability and assembly.

    + Participate in prototyping, failure analysis, simple fixture design, metrology, and statistical process control.

     

    What's Needed?

     

    + BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

    + 2+ years of Mechanical Design industry experience.

    + 3D CAD experience with any program; 2D drafting and GD&T experience is a plus.

    + Experience in the design cycle from concept through manufacturing is a plus.

    + Ability to clearly convey design ideas and contribute to brainstorms with excellent communication skills.
