    The AVP of Marketing Strategy serves as a senior leader responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that drive growth across access points, ancillary services, and physician engagement. This role oversees an account management team that connects local markets with centralized shared services to ensure alignment with Ascension’s priorities, the consumer journey, and business objectives.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead system-wide marketing strategy for key access points (primary care, urgent care, virtual care) and ancillary service lines (imaging, pharmacy, outpatient rehab)

    + Develop targeted B2B strategies for physician engagement and manage execution of related sponsorships

    + Translate system goals into actionable, locally relevant marketing plans with defined KPIs and measurable outcomes

    + Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on market positioning and campaign strategy

    + Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and consumer data to identify growth opportunities

    + Oversee account management function that bridges market needs and shared service delivery (creative, digital, media, analytics)

    + Establish marketing intake and prioritization processes aligned to business value, resourcing, and consumer needs

    + Guide cross-market campaign execution and foster knowledge sharing across local teams

    + Standardize marketing processes for efficiency and consistency while allowing for market customization

    + Lead and develop a high-performing account management team, setting clear performance expectations and growth pathways

    + Monitor campaign performance and ROI, using insights to refine strategy and improve marketing effectiveness

    + Manage marketing budget allocation across business priorities, ensuring alignment with growth and brand-building goals

    Requirements

    Education:

    + Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 4 of those years being in leadership/management.

    Additional Preferences

    + Master’s degree preferred

    + 10+ years of experience in marketing strategy and execution, with significant healthcare industry experience

    + 5+ years in a director-level or higher leadership role, ideally within a multi-market health system

    + Deep understanding of integrated marketing across digital, traditional, and direct channels

    + Strong knowledge of healthcare consumer behavior, service line marketing, and patient acquisition strategies

    + Experience developing physician-focused (B2B) marketing and referral strategies

    + Skilled in team leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and organizational influence

    + Proficiency in using data and performance metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness and guide investment

    + Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership and articulate marketing value across diverse stakeholders
