Schedule: Full-Time | Tuesday–Friday, 8am–6pm | On-call rotation required

Pay Range: Competitive hourly rate: $17–$25/hour (based on experience) Benefits

Responsibilities of this position:

The Veterinary Technician Assistant supports the Veterinarians and Technicians in ensuring quality veterinary care for all patients, advocates for pets, provides client education to pet owners, and ensures a safe and efficient hospital environment.

Patient Care & Support

+ Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, procedures, and treatments

+ Monitor and provide nursing care for surgical and hospitalized patients

+ Perform surgical prep and ensure OR protocols are followed

+ Maintain surgical equipment and prepare lab samples

Communication & Client Education

+ Deliver organized rounds and updates to the care team

+ Provide pet owners with clear home-care instructions and updates on hospitalized pets

+ Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless care

Hospital Maintenance & Safety

+ Ensure clean, safe, and efficient hospital operations

+ Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments

Essential Skills

+ Patient restraint skills including, but not limited to: behavioral assessment, safe handling of fractious patients

+ Able to maintain focus and work in a fast-paced work environment

+ Adept at problem solving

+ Basic computer skills

+ Effective communication and organizational skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

+ High school diploma, GED, or higher education

+ One year clinical experience

+ Must be able to lift forty (40) pounds unassisted
