Description We are looking for an experienced Underwriter Consultant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Minnetonka, Minnesota. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting detailed financial analyses and applying underwriting principles to develop pricing strategies for large group health insurance accounts. Your expertise will play a critical role in assessing risks, crafting renewal strategies, and ensuring alignment with organizational financial goals. This position offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders while leveraging your analytical and strategic thinking skills.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to evaluate underwriting risks and project future costs for large group health insurance accounts.

• Develop pricing strategies in alignment with organizational guidelines and customer objectives.

• Collaborate with sales teams to provide pricing rationale and support renewal strategy development.

• Communicate underwriting decisions and strategies effectively to both internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Utilize industry knowledge to analyze competitive market trends and provide actionable insights.

• Apply healthcare underwriting methodologies to ensure pricing accuracy and risk management.

• Build strong relationships with stakeholders to facilitate seamless collaboration and decision-making.

• Manage and review data using Microsoft Excel to support underwriting and pricing activities.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to strategic problem-solving initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and healthcare regulations in all underwriting practices. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of underwriting experience, preferably in large group fully-insured health insurance.

• Strong proficiency in healthcare pricing methodologies and underwriting practices.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to convey complex information clearly.

• Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and build effective stakeholder relationships.

• Strategic thinking and analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

• Comprehensive understanding of competitive market trends within the healthcare industry.
