Job Title: Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney (Hybrid)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney with 5-8 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be adept at handling complex medical malpractice litigation matters, possess excellent analytical and communication skills, and demonstrate a strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a hybrid work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Manage all aspects of medical malpractice defense cases, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.

+ Develop and implement effective defense strategies in collaboration with clients and colleagues.

+ Conduct depositions of fact witnesses, experts, and other parties involved in litigation.

+ Analyze medical records, identify issues, and consult with medical experts.

+ Provide thoughtful recommendations and guidance to clients on risk management and legal compliance.

+ Draft and argue pre-trial motions and briefs, and represent clients in trial proceedings as needed.

+ Maintain regular communication with clients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed effectively throughout the litigation process.

+ Participate in firm-wide initiatives, contributing to a culture of excellence and continuous learning.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

+ Admission to practice law in New York State (good standing).

+ 5-8 years of experience with a strong focus on medical malpractice defense litigation.

+ Proven expertise in trial preparation, depositions, and motion practice.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.

+ Ability to manage a busy caseload, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.

+ Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of healthcare-related issues preferred.

+ Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.
