In addition to employee benefits, there are a wide range of advancement opportunities throughout the Department of Revenue. *__* *_DUTIES_* *Job Overview:* This position resides in the Property Assessment Division of Department of Revenue. Duties include using established software, statistical methodologies, and appraisal practices for developing, specifying, and calibrating mass appraisal models. Models are developed for the computer assisted mass appraisal (CAMA) system to assist in determining the market value of real property for the assessment of property for tax purposes.This position is responsible for project development, implementation, and statistical valuation outcomes within assigned region(s) and market areas. All work is accomplished according to policies, procedures, rules, laws, and current practices. The position provides training and information to appraisal teams and taxpayers regarding mass appraisal model development and application. The position does not supervise other staff. /Knowledge of:/ · Residential and commercial property appraisal and assessment · Cost factor development · Market and income modeling · Geographic Information Systems · Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal System (CAMAS)support · Project management, legislative support, training, and rules development · Exemptions and appeals · Mass appraisal methodology · Appraisal principles, techniques, and theories; CAMAS software, integrated information systems, building construction and material, and strategic planning · Concepts and theories of public administration and communication · Research and analysis methodologies · Budgeting; business and management principles; operational and program planning; quality assurance methods; revenue sources and market trends · Applicable federal and state statutes related to property appraisal and assessment, administrative rules and departmental policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures · Organizational development and analysis · Customer service standards · Training methods and techniques; technical writing; and effective communication strategies and techniques /Skills in:/ · Research and analysis// · Accuracy and attention to detail// · Conflict resolution & customer service// · Microsoft programs and other data and statistical applications// · Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication// / / *You would be a great fit for this position if you have:* * Demonstrate self-motivation// * Follow instructions// * Provide timely customer service// * Handling multiple priorities under deadlines// *__* *_Working Conditions_* * Work hours may exceed 40 hours from time to time, including weekends. * Office environment. * Lifting is infrequent, less than 15 pounds. * Some travel may be required, must have a valid driver’s license.
