    We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to join our Metals team that is ready to drive our process development projects. If you are a hands-on problem solver looking for a challenge, then this job is for you! As a uniquely qualified candidate, you will be responsible for: process development, tooling and fixture design (utilizing CAD software and creating drawings), material selection, and project documentation.

    How you'll make an impact:

    + Optimize manufacturing processes, including using engineering methods (e.g., SIX Sigma and LEAN methods) for continuous process improvement and/or re-design/design of equipment, tools, fixtures, etc. to improve manufacturing processes, employing technical design skills

    + Develop moderately complex experiments and tests (including writing and executing protocols) to qualify and validate manufacturing processes; analyze results, make recommendations, and develop reports

    + Analyze and resolve moderately complex Manufacturing issues

    + Develop training and documentation materials (e.g., work instructions) for production to enable the seamless knowledge transfer of project and manufacturing processes

    + Oversee manufacturing support tasks; give instruction to technicians on conducting tests; train technicians and provide feedback; and coordinate technician work

    + Perform as an expert in the fields of manufacturing technologies, design in CAD and design testing

    + Create 3D CAD models of design concepts to be evaluated

    + Rapid and traditional prototyping of design features for assessment and comparison

    + Testing of prototypes with both established test methods and the development of new test methods to characterize design concepts

    + Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, and an ability to deconstruct real world issues using root cause analysis

    What you'll need (Required):

    + Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Scientific field

    What else we look for (Preferred):

    + Previous experience working in the medical device industry

    + Experience with 3D CAD modeling using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and/or Polyworks

    + Experience and exposure to the operation of 3D printing equipment

    + Experience with tolerance analysis and mechanical design

    + Knowledge of material characterization, mechanical properties, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and/or structural mechanics

    + Good computer skills in usage of MS Office Suite including MS Project

    + Previous experience working with lab/industrial equipment

    + Solid problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills, able to work with limited supervision and communicate effectively

    + Knowledge of and adherence to Edwards Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to department clean room medical device manufacturing

    + Strict attention to detail

    + Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels

    + Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

    + Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
