    SMX is looking for a motivated Junior Operations Specialist to join our team supporting a Federal cloud and DevSecOps program. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to gain hands-on experience with cloud operations, automation tools, and secure development environments in a highly mission-driven setting. This position is hybrid supporting a Herndon, VA office.

    Essential Duties:

    + Assist with the maintenance and operation of CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms.

    + Support user onboarding and provide first-level troubleshooting for development tools.

    + Perform routine system checks and collect operational metrics.

    + Participate in process documentation and continuous improvement efforts.

    + Learn and apply compliance standards relevant to federal systems.

    Required Skills & Experience:

    + BA/BS degree in a technical discipline.

    + Demonstrated interest in cloud operations, DevSecOps, or IT support.

    + Strong communication and organizational skills.

    + Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

    Desired Skills & Experience

    + Exposure to cloud platforms or automation tools through coursework or internships.

    + Familiarity with Git, Jira, or scripting languages.

    + Security+ or other entry-level certifications.

    The proposed salary for this position is:

    $65,100—$97,700 USD
