    Description

    PCSI is looking for a General Maintenance Worker for our Cadet Command Department on Ft. Knox, Kentucky! You will perform receiving functions of the contract by making minor adjustments and repairs to plumbing, electrical, waste systems, architectural and structural building components, doors, windows, floor systems, light carpentry, and roof systems. Cleaning and maintaining of mechanical rooms. Preventative maintenance functions and minor repairs, including changing filters, cleaning cooling towers, heating and cooling coils, and changing fluorescent and other light bulbs.

     

    This position will report to the Cadet Command supervisor and is based out of Ft. Knox, Kentucky. **Typical work hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with required OT, slip shifts, holiday and weekend rotating hours.**

    Benefits Include:

    + Base pay of **$21.02/hr** depending upon experience.

    What You'll Do as General Maintenance Worker:

    + Minor adjustments and repairs to plumbing, electrical, waste systems, architectural and structural building components, doors, windows, floor systems, light carpentry, and roof systems.

    + Cleaning and maintaining of mechanical rooms.

    + Preventative maintenance functions and minor repairs, including changing filters, cleaning cooling towers, heating and cooling coils, and changing fluorescent and other light bulbs.

    + Manufacture, repair, and installation of screens and glass.

    + Sign maintenance to include inspections, replacement (setting/affixing) and painting.

    + Ensure all paperwork is completed.

    + Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors

    + Using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings

    + Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets

    + Painting structures and equipment

    + Repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalk

    + Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles

    + Hanging doors and installing door locks

    + Replacing broken windowpanes

    + Performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery

    + Snow and Ice Removal operations

    + May – November employee must be able to work on Saturday, Sunday, holidays or night shift

    Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or GED.

    + Must have at least six (6) months of experience with the ability to perform the assigned duties.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    + Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb ladders. Frequently required to kneel, squat, bend, and reach.

    + Required to be able to lift 50lbs up to 10 times per day.

    + Ability to perform a variety of maintenance tasks.

    + Knowledge of all maintenance trades in a maintenance environment (prior government contractor experience preferred).

    + Ability to use hand tools and power tools required for installation, maintenance and repair.

    + Must have the ability to successfully complete all applicable training modules assigned.

    + Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.

    Other Requirements:

    + Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.

    + Ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.

    + Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.

    + Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.

    + If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
