    APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY - $52,200.00 to $76,608.72 PAY GRADE: 30

    The Position

    Maintenance Repair Specialists perform a variety of skilled work in two or more of the mechanical and construction trades in order to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, grounds and equipment.

     

    Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

     

    The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is recruiting for a Maintenance Repair Specialist to be located at Summit View Youth Center in Las Vegas. Summit View Youth Center is a maximum-security youth facility. Maintenance Repair Specialists perform variety of skilled work in two or more of the mechanical and construction trades in order to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment. This position is located in Las Vegas. Under general supervision this position will perform a variety of skilled work in the building and mechanical trades in order to repair, construct and/or maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment. The incumbent will plan, layout, and perform repair and maintenance activities. The majority of the duties performed will include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and other skilled maintenance duties as required.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

     

    Four years of progressively responsible experience under the supervision of journey level trades persons in two or more of the major building or mechanical trades which included responsibility for performing a variety of repair and maintenance activities, laying out jobs and ordering materials; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

     

    Special Notes

     

    This position is subject to standby and call back status.

     

    Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules.

    Special Requirements

    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.

    A valid driver's license is required at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

     

    This position may require flexible/rotating shifts.

     

    This position may require work on nights/weekends/holidays.
