    Summary

    The Corporate Affairs Specialist is responsible for supporting the development and execution of communications programs and activities that shape awareness and perceptions of Compass Minerals and its subsidiaries, both internally and externally. This position will play a role in content creation, community engagement, and site communications support, such as management of internal digital assets and the company intranet, to further evolve and support our internal communication efforts. This role will also have responsibilities for vendor management, expense reporting, and budget management for the department. This position will collaborate closely with the Senior Director, Corporate Affairs.

    Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    + Execute and manage the social media strategy for the company

    + Create content for internal communications, providing materials to help improve employee engagement through a variety of channels (e.g., digital signage, email, bulletin boards, intranet, newsletter, etc.)

    + Actively contribute to departmental editorial calendar and maintain/update as needed

    + Help coordinate the management of key strategic partnerships, and employee volunteerism and events

    + Support Corporate Affairs team with proofreading and editing for accuracy, consistency and style

    + Track media coverage and prepare media monitoring reports for senior leaders as needed

    + Support the creation of presentations for other departments and leaders

    + Coordinate vendor relationships and follow-up, e.g., company store, printer

    + Manage invoices, expense reports and budget tracking for the department

    + Perform other related duties as required

    Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

     

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    + Demonstrated ability to write clear, informative and professional-quality communications

    + Ability to think analytically and conceptually using creativity, logic and reason

    + Proficient experience with Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint

    + Knowledge and experience with AP Stylebook, WordPress and Canva preferred

    + Possesses exceptional multitasking skills, including the ability to adjust pace and schedule to meet deadlines

    + Demonstrates outstanding attention to detail

    + Excellent interpersonal skills; enthusiastic, team player and self-starter

    Education and/or Experience

    + Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism or another related field, or equivalent education and experience.

    + 3 years of experience in communications, marketing or similar
