Hours: 7am-4pm (extra hours as needed)
The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for all distribution operations, which includes support to meet customer needs, ensuring regulatory compliance and improving operational performance. You will assist distribution management in the development and implementation of new distribution practices, processes and technologies to improve quality and efficiency, while maintaining a safe work environment.
The successful applicant will report to the Senior Manager of Distribution, be a full and active member of the Global Distribution Team, and work closely with all functions on and off site to identify, assess, and analyze opportunities for continuous improvement, and then support and drive continuous improvement plans through to execution.
What will you do?
+ Mentoring your team to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity improvement targets
+ Identifying standard processes and appropriate industry benchmarks against the current Operation.
+ Lead and facilitate continuous improvement opportunities in support of Distribution and Operational strategic goals.
Key responsibilities:
+ Staff Hiring – Complete interviews for open positions and make recommendations for staff replacement and additions.
+ Staff Training – Provide orientation, coaching, and training on department processes and systems.
+ Staff Motivation – Empower your team and provide positive feedback, counselling and issuing corrective action as needed, up to and including dismissal (with HR assistance).
+ Inbound Receiving Process and Operations – Ensure the integrity of the received materials, and maintain proper operations of established procedures (i.e., proper rotation of stock using FIFO)
+ Participate fully with the Distribution team including the setting and execution of the Operational Strategy for the site.
+ Increase Employee engagement and drive employee development and recognition.
Key requirements:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum 5 years of experience. Bachelor degree preferred.
+ Business management, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management, Transportation Management, Distribution logistics, or equivalent work related experience.
+ Knowledge of SAP/ERP MRP SYSTEMS, Microsoft Windows, Office Suite, Excel or related systems.
+ Forklift certification (may train others).
+ Ability of work in a warehouse environment – with and without air conditioning, cooler with temps at 40 to 45F, bending, standing, and working on concrete 10 to 12 hours per day.
+ Knowledge of LTL, UPS, FedEx, Truckload and other major and local transportation partners.
+ Interface all levels of the organization and work comfortably in a matrix environment.
+ Self-motivated with strong mentorship skills.
+ Effective and concise communication - written, verbal and presentation skills.
