Marketing Analyst - National Accounts
The Marketing Analyst provides industry-leading service to approximately 120 National Account customers across our electric operating companies, natural gas distribution companies, and through off-system opportunities with PowerSecure and other affiliates. For 2024, these customers represented over 42,000 accounts and more than $842 million in electric revenue and over $191 million in nationwide PowerSecure sales. This role will be responsible for developing strong relationships with customers and will serve as a strategic point of contact to fulfill customer needs and promote company programs and products in partnership with National Account Managers. This position will require some travel nationwide to support customers.
Key job responsibilities include:
+ Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding billing questions, service issues, outages, programs, incentives, etc. and provide proactive communication to ensure high satisfaction; resolve customer problems in a consultative manner
+ Understand and explain complex rate structures to customers; conduct annual rate analysis including real-time pricing evaluations for major customers
+ Aid in project managing construction of new facilities, installation of EV charging and resiliency solutions, expansion of existing buildings, and more involving internal and external cross-functional teams
+ Conduct market/customer research; create presentations, proposals, and contracts for customers
+ Assist in facilitating customer meetings and following up on action items from the discussion
+ Provide effective storm response and outage communication
+ Build and foster relationships with nearly 200 internal partners across APC, GPC, MPC, GAS, PowerSecure, Southern Power, New Ventures, and others which can be leveraged to support customer requests and ensure the highest level of service for assigned accounts
+ Support company sales goals of unregulated products (end use, outdoor lighting, energy services, etc.) and participation in regulated programs for managed customers
+ Obtain customer feedback and share learnings with internal partners to inform decisions on existing program adjustments and enable new product development and promotion
+ Establish relationships with reputable vendor partners; evaluate new pilot opportunities
+ Develop regular and ad hoc customer communication in compliance with company branding standards; improve customer communication by leveraging technologies such as AI
+ Coordinate marketing materials, branded apparel, and booth resources for semi-annual EEI National Key Accounts conferences
+ Assist in managing $2 million O&M budget including tracking meals and travel expenses and providing monthly individual variance reports to Account Managers; effectively manage resources to achieve results
+ Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement comprehensive reporting and analytics strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the National Accounts team
Job Experience & Education
+ Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field preferred.
+ Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales, customer service, and/or pricing within an electric utility is preferred.
+ Knowledge of electric power delivery practices, clean transportation, distributed energy, renewable energy, and emerging energy technologies is preferred.
+ Strong computer skills and expertise in Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office, utility rates, and project management is required. Knowledge of CSS, IDMS, DisIntel, DistView, PRICEM, JETS, Clear/Socket, RateSim, BillGen, and EnergyDirect preferred.

+ Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems, project tracking tools, and data analysis strategies.
+ Knowledge of customer program offerings including energy efficiency, renewables, distributed energy resources, clean transportation, outdoor lighting, etc.
+ Ability to conduct financial assessments of customer projects to evaluate viability, profitability, and alignment with company goals including analyzing costs, revenues, and return on investment for various initiatives.
+ Working knowledge of energy markets and the ability to stay current with changing technologies, regulations, and trends.
+ Thorough and detailed understanding of rates, policies, and procedures of each system electric and gas company
