About the organization: Compass Family Services is a 100+ year old nonprofit working on the front lines of San Francisco's homeless crisis. We provide families experiencing or at risk of homelessness with comprehensive support to address immediate needs and ensure long-term success.
About the team: Central City Access Point enables families to access San Francisco's Homelessness Response System. The Access Point team provides families with housing problem solving support and connection to available homelessness prevention, shelter and housing programs.
Salary range: $72,000- $78,000 depending on experience
Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday, primarily during standard business hours

Position Description:
The Assistant Program Director works closely with the Program Director to manage the Central City Access Point, including supervising staff, administrative oversight, operations, program design and implementation, and providing direct support to clients.
Specific responsibilities include:
+ Provide direct training and support to direct service staff on the team, including hiring, training, scheduling, weekly one-on-one supervision meetings, and professional development.
+ Oversee successful referral/placement of families into shelter and housing programs.
+ Oversee day-to-day operations of Central City Access Point, ensuring smooth workflow, adequate coverage, and adherence to agency policies.
+ Ensure families receive strong problem solving support.
+ Conduct and lead mobile outreach programming to unsheltered families in the community.
+ Represent the agency to the community, outside agencies, service provider groups, committees and funders.
+ Be available for crisis intervention, case consultation and intervention with difficult client situations.
+ Perform administrative functions essential to keeping the team running smoothly, like credit card reports and data quality reports.
+ Function as acting director during Program Director's leave.
Qualifications:
+ At least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience
+ At least 2 years of experience working as case manager or counselor with families experiencing homelessness, or at risk populations
+ Experience with successful program implementation and design
+ Ability to assess and de-escalate potentially volatile situations
+ Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
+ Deep commitment to and demonstrated success discussing, integrating, and promoting diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging throughout a complex and dynamic organization.
+ Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
+ Bilingual in English and Spanish encouraged but not required
Compensation and Benefits:
+ Salary range: $72,000 - $78,000 per year.
+ Paid time off: 4 weeks of vacation in your first year, 5 in your second. Also paid holidays, sick time, family leave, and time off for education.
+ Insurance: health, dental and vision insurance are fully covered by Compass for employees and dependent children. We also provide long term disability and life insurance.
+ Retirement: after one year of work, Compass contributes an amount equal to 5% of your salary into a retirement account; this vests during years 2-6.
