Under the supervision of the Director of Full-Time and Evening MBA Student Affairs, this role is responsible for planning and executing programs, events, and services that enhance the student experience for the Full-Time MBA program.
Responsible for the development and delivery of program services, events, and activities to support and enhance the Evening MBA student experience at the Foster School of Business.
Work closely with key stakeholders including faculty and staff across the Foster School of Business to build an inclusive welcoming community for MBA students.
Coordinate efforts with the Director of MBA Admissions, the Director of Full-time (& Director of Evening) MBA Student Affairs, the Director of Operations, the Director of MBA Strategic Consulting, the Assistant Dean for MBA Career Services, the directors of various centers which provide programs and services for MBA students.
Serve as an advisor for the student leaders of the MBA Association and will work as needed with the various MBA student clubs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** **Academic Advising and Student Services (30%)
• Serve as the primary staff contact for 200+ Full-Time MBA students.
• Advise prospective and current students on academic, leadership, and professional development goals.
• Support international students with information on the STEM-approved Management Science degree option, CPT, OPT, and visa-related questions.
• Communicate scholarship opportunities and participate in the MBA Scholarships Committee.
• Develop and deliver programs to enhance academic and professional success, including academic planning, registration, and case competition workshops.
• Provide students with degree progress updates and guidance on graduation policies and procedures.
Program Management and Communications (20%)
• Plan and execute orientation programs, LEAD, Jump Start prep classes, and core case competitions for first-year students.
• Coordinate student services events such as coffee breaks, dinners, and DEI programming.
• Updated student handbooks, policies, and resources annually.
• Develop and manage communication tools, including weekly email updates, a monthly international student newsletter, and academic platforms.
• Collaborate with the Student Affairs team to maintain web pages, SharePoint , and other communication channels.
Student Organization Support (20%)
• Partner with the Director to support the Full-Time MBA Association Executive Council (MBAA EC).
• Attend student organization meetings and provide leadership training throughout the year.
• Advise student groups on event planning and university resource utilization.
• Serve as a mentor and resource for student leaders, connecting them with faculty, staff, and alumni.
Course Scheduling (15%)
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and Foster stakeholders to ensure timely and effective scheduling of core classes and electives.
• Support student assignments for the Applied Strategy project teams.
• Deliver registration-related programming and materials.
Recruiting, Admissions, and Onboarding (15%)
• Support onboarding communication and workshops for new Full-Time MBA students.
• Collaborate with Admissions and Operations teams to develop schedules and content for onboarding platforms such as Canvas and SharePoint.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Master's Degree in Business, Higher Education, Communications, Communications or a related field
• 2 years’ experience in MBA student services or other business-related graduate or undergraduate student life or services
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.** **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Experience as an academic advisor
• Experience working with student leadership and organizations
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal communications skills, including excellent presentation skills
• Program management and event coordination experience a must
• Proven ability to manage detail, student records and maintain strict confidentiality
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience working in industry such as recruiting, human resources, marketing, sales, consulting, program management highly preferred
• Experience working with diverse student populations
• Experience using UW systems such as MyGrad and SDB highly preferred
