Caterpillar is seeking a Sr. Manager, Digital Product to lead the development of the Rental (demand) side of the Cat Rental Store. The Cat Rental Store is the premiere Rental storefront for customers to rent from Caterpillar Dealers.

The Sr. Manager, Digital Product is responsible for defining, delivering and managing the ongoing development of the Cat Rental Store shopping experience. This role will lead the re-design and re-platforming of the Cat Rental Store to provide greater equipment information, transparency / availability of inventory, and accurate pricing for reservations to increase rental transactions. This role requires strong product management skills and technical acumen to advance the Cat Rental Store and our Rental business.

The Sr. Manager, Digital Product will own the Rent (demand) roadmap and properly prioritize features that generate increased demand through the Cat Rental Store. The candidate will utilize their Rental expertise to increase Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and best represent Cat Dealer equipment offerings through an industry-aligned representation of the equipment catalog.

Additionally, the role will collaborate with business, design and engineering peers to solve complex integrations like internal Search and Product Information Management (PIM) to improve product discovery. The candidate will align with other applications and rental stakeholders to implement Caterpillar business logic into the rental shopping experience, ensuring a seamless digital transactional process that results in ease of fulfillment by Caterpillar Dealers.

The role will also be responsible for improving the Rental data domain by coordinating with Dealers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and platform developers to appropriately ingest, map and maintain high-quality data sets that drive application capabilities. The candidate will utilize their Rental expertise to define, standardize and accelerate data accuracy.

This position is a blend of strategic and tactical responsibilities, requiring strong collaboration between multiple stakeholders to align on product capabilities while possessing operational rigor to deliver a comprehensive Rental shopping experience.

What You Will Do:

Product Strategy & Roadmap:

+ Define and own the roadmap for the Cat Rental Store shopping experience.

+ Properly prioritize capabilities, intake requests and features to drive business KPIs.

+ Monitor core metrics to identify opportunities to improve customer experience and generate rental transactions.

Team Leadership:

+ Lead and mentor direct reports to effective delivery of features, ensuring a high-quality customer experience.

+ Align with other product leads to ensure consistent experience across Caterpillar applications.

**Requirements Definition and Delivery** :

+ Collaborate with Rental & Used business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document complex business requirements for equipment catalog, inventory sourcing / fulfillment logic and shopping experience.

+ Lead solution design sessions with engineering and subject matter experts to define the experience and technical solutions and translate into actionable development specifications.

+ Take business decisions for development continuity and delivery to key milestones.

**Stakeholder Management & Communication** :

+ Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Cat Digital leads, external vendors and Caterpillar Dealers.

+ Generate presentations and communicate effectively product roadmap & capabilities.

**User Training and Support** – Collaborate with Training department to deliver user training programs, provide ongoing support and address user issues / enhancement requests.

What You Will Have:

**Software Product Management:** Knowledge of software product management; ability to operate and manage software product development projects at all stages of the product development lifecycle.

+ Has experience defining roadmap and managing critical product releases to meet business outcomes.

+ Gathers, summarizes and prioritizes ideas for new products, capabilities or features to improve customer experience

+ Participates in defining, estimating and scoping of enhancement requests.

+ Manages and resolves conflicts between business units, sales, marketing, and engineering teams.

+ Shares experiences regarding optimal timing and circumstances for refraining from or making decisions.

**Software Product Business Knowledge:** Knowledge of and experience with the business aspects and operation of a software product; ability to manage install base, current uses, future plans, and product vision.

+ Defines and communicates product strategy, vision and functional roadmap.

+ Is recognized as an expert on product functions, features and implementation issues.

+ Leads functional product planning effort and drives solution definition with Design and Engineering to ensure a feasible and valuable delivery of capability for the product.

+ Anticipates new opportunities, while ensuring feedback from users is gathered, prioritized and incorporated into product roadmap.

+ Plays a key role in analyzing and solving the complex business rules associated with Rental industry.

**Effective Communications:** Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

+ Effectively creates presentations and supportive materials to align understanding to product vision, roadmap and capabilities.

**Software Engineering:** Knowledge of software engineering; ability to deliver new or enhanced fee-based software products.

+ Articulates key issues and opportunities for delivering product capabilities to meet global use cases.

+ Monitors organization's development benchmarks; actively promotes the adoption of new practices to improve collaboration and delivery outcomes

+ Monitors industry and other organizations for innovations in rental solutions / approaches.

+ Demonstrates in-depth experience with software engineering of business-critical or multiple products.

Considerations For Top Candidates:

+ Extensive experience working in the Rental or adjacent industry, preferably with eCommerce experience

+ Proven experience in Product Management and/or technical background to deliver enterprise-level applications

+ Experience working within B2B and B2B2C organizations and integration between applications, service-layers and platforms

+ Experience working with operational data systems and/or acting as a data domain expert / steward, preference for Rental Management System or ERP experience.

+ Experience in Agile software development environment operating at scale managing multiple concurrent teams, SAFe Agile is a plus

+ Strong leadership in working within a matrixed organization to coordinate development, dependencies and risks for product delivery

+ Extreme ownership of their product and responsibilities that drives deliverables

Summary Pay Range:

$156,000.00 - $253,560.00
