Description

The Radiology department at Medical Associates is hiring a **full-time Imaging Assistant** to join our team! This person should have a high attention to detail, enjoy interacting with patients and clinical staff, and are motivated by high-volume and fast-pace work. This position is a great opportunity for potential students looking to gain experience in Radiology!

**Schedule:** Monday & Wednesday 7:30am - 4:00pm, Tuesday & Thursday 8:30am to 3:00pm, and Friday 8:00am to noon.

What you'll be doing:

+ Take patients to dressing area and prepare for exam

+ Assist x-ray technologist

+ Access patient orders for imaging studies

+ Document and track outside patient exams

+ Answer telephone calls related to any image requests

+ Burn x-ray images to CD or electronically transferring images for outside use

+ Fax reports or consents for outside imaging

+ Complete all other assigned projects and duties

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

_Education:_ High school diploma or GED required.

_Experience:_ Some radiology or health care experience preferred.

Physical Aspects:

Climbing - Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.

Stooping - Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.

Reaching - Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Standing - Particularly for sustained periods of time.

Walking - Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.

Pushing - Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.

Pulling - Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

Lifting - Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.

Fingering - Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.

Grasping - Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

Talking - Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.

Hearing - Perceiving the nature of sound with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.

Vision - 20 / 40 or better in the best eye with or without correction.

Repetitive Motions - Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
