    We're Intermountain Health’s first standalone children’s hospital in Nevada. And, we're excited to be breaking ground late this year or early in 2026. We are a part of Intermountain Children’s Health, which has more than 100 years of history caring for children and their families. Everything we do, each decision we make, is about what's best for the child, now, and forever.

     

    We are looking for a creative, strategic marketing and communications professional and strong leader who wants to make a difference in the lives of our young patients and the communities we serve. As part of Intermountain Health Marcom, this manager will work with a team of professionals supporting Children’s Health,

     

    Among other responsibilities, this new position will be chiefly responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive communications program for Intermountain Children’s Health in Nevada (most concentrated in the Greater Las Vegas Valley. They’ll oversee long-term communications strategies as well as adeptly fulfilling immediate, intermediate, and unexpected needs.

     

    They’ll play a critical role preparing for the groundbreaking mentioned earlier, as well as a grand opening in 2029. They will assist in building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships between Intermountain Health and key internal and community stakeholders. They’ll partner with senior leaders to strategize, research, plan, produce, coordinate, communicate, measure, and iterate on key messages, initiatives, policies, programs, and other activities with various audiences.

     

    This exciting new position is perfect for a passionate, entrepreneurial, team player looking to improve the present and future of pediatric health in the Intermountain West. The proper candidate will possess a people-first, mission-driven mentality.

     

    Scope

     

    This position will primarily support the pediatric needs described above but will work closely and collaboratively with other marcom professionals within Intermountain to help achieve overarching brand objectives and fulfill our Mission, Vision and Values.

     

    This position may facilitate a work-from-home setup before the hospital is built, although onsite work is preferred. However, once the new hospital opens, on-site support will be required during regular business hours.

     

    This position is onsite.

    Job Essentials

    As a member of a broader marcom team, this person manages internal communications and community relationship strategies for Intermountain Children’s Health. Must possess a start-up philosophy aligning within an established organization to balance progress toward long-term strategy and daily children’s health/hospital relationship building needs.

     

    + Manages major, time-sensitive marketing and communications projects, special events, and sub-functions alongside marcom counterparts (e.g., social media, senior leader and trustee communications, brand management, strategic partnerships, multimedia projects, video production, media relations, etc.).

    + Supports the marcom director and vice president and also supports senior Intermountain leaders, including identifying emerging market issues and preparing the organization's response. Priority stakeholder is the President of the Children’s Hospital, Larry Barnard.

    + Manages assigned Intermountain Connected Health initiatives through collaborative marketing plan development and execution for Intermountain digital products and services.

    + Strategically develops and executes marketing and communications activities and events (e.g., internal email communications, printed and digital collateral development, content creation/assessment, event management).

    + Develops strategies based on target audiences, market research, and business plans, and continually assesses caregiver, consumer, and business needs to ensure plan alignment.

    + In consultation with Director and Assistant Vice President, and in collaboration with team counterparts, develops and oversees marketing and communication plans based in consumer insights, exhibiting sound creative judgment, and driving go-to-market processes in assigned programs.

    + Works with traditional and to-be-developed mediums to create Intermountain responses to anticipated and breaking stories through approved strategic distribution channels.

    + Manages complex and matrixed marketing and communication projects throughout the project life cycle (concept through launch), to achieve objectives and measure results against business needs.

    + Responsibilities include measuring and reporting outcomes and meeting marketing budgets.

    + Delivers trend-forward, multi-channel media executions (e.g. social, digital, video) by maintaining relationships with agency partners, driving alignment to creative executions, and managing overall media timeline.

    + Inspires trust and confidence and maintains a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality

    + Works well independently and collaboratively to prioritize and drive forward multiple projects.

    + Where assigned, manages Marcom staff to provide leadership, oversight, development, and direction according to Intermountain Values.

    Minimum Qualifications

     

    Five years of experience in journalism, public relations, or advertising.

    Demonstrated excellent writing and publication production experience.

     

    - and -

     

    Demonstrated excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills.

     

    - and -

     

    Demonstrated attention to detail and experience with copy editing and proof reading.

     

    - and -

     

    Demonstrated proficiency in desktop publishing programs and/or other communication tools

    - and -

    **Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects under strict deadlines** .

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience in a marketing and communications role within healthcare or in a related health industry. Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, photography and videography, MS Office (specifically PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive), Airtable project management suite, multi-media presentation, graphics, and desktop publishing applications.

     

    Health care experience.

    Experience in Communications Specialist I or II level

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

     

    $43.67 - $67.41
