    Digital Advice Technology (DAT) is looking for an experienced quality automation engineer who will contribute to our suite of Schwab automated investing products, specifically Schwab Intelligent Portfolios and Schwab Intelligent Portfolios Premium. This role will participate in team planning & technical design, implement high quality code and automation, and establish quality/testing standards to ensure comprehensive and stable test coverage on a full stack of components. This position provides the opportunity to work innovatively and collaboratively with product and technology partners to execute Schwab’s vision to be the most trusted leader in investment services. While being the quality and automation expert on the team it is also important that this person can contribute and provide leadership for our API and UI integration framework. They will need to take initiative and ownership over test failure investigation and follow up. You will also need to lead end-to-end cross-department testing efforts. Ideally, the candidate would have a background or interest in contributing to development tasks.

    What you’re good at:

    • Leverage current and evolving technologies to design, code, test, log, debug, document and analyze current/future applications. Focus on maintainability, security, availability, and scalability.

    • Build and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with team members, product partners, & dependent cross-team members

    • Participate in troubleshooting, analysis, and resolution of production support issues by answering and providing details on key functional questions regarding application behavior

    • Facilitate delivery of project milestones collaborating with teams inside and outside of the department especially in the testing phase

    What you have

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or related hands-on professional experience.

    • 6+ years of hands-on application programming and/or test automation / framework experience with C#, .NET, Angular, etc. · 4+ years of experience writing automation in object-oriented languages in C#, .NET, and Angular. · Extensive experience writing both frontend and backend test automation

    . Expertise in A11y testing (accessibility)

    • Extensive experience executing API performance testing and investigating latency

    • Experience with test automation as a part of Continuous Integration, enabling Continuous Delivery.

    • Team player with excellent communication skills (oral and written) to partner technically with Application Architects, Development, QA/Testing organizations and Business teams.

    • Strong experience reporting bugs including writing tickets with all necessary details included

    • Experience in development of automated framework(s) for enterprise level functional and regression testing.

    • Ability to think outside the box and propose creative solutions influencing others when conventional methods are not proving viable.

    • Ability to contribute to all phases of the SDLC

    • Extensive experience and understanding of Agile Methodologies.

    • Extensive programming, debugging/troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

    • Prior experience or familiarity interfacing with SRE / production support.

    • Delivery driven - motivated and passionate about meeting the needs of each customer (internal & external).

    • Motivation and passion to stay on top of new and emerging test and automation technologies and able to provide direction to team on quality approaches.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience and working knowledge of Web Applications, Databases, Web Services, batch processing technologies.

    • Strong knowledge of Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.), Bruno (or similar Schwab approved tool), Swagger, Applitools, etc.

    • Experience with cloud-native enterprise applications in public or private cloud is strongly preferred.

    • Experience with trading systems or financial services experience is a plus.

    • Ability and desire to contribute to application and platform architecture and design.

    • Experience with GitHub and GitHub workflows

     

    In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
