    Description

    Robert Half Finance & Accounting Contract Talent is currently seeking a Property Accountant for a real estate development and property management firm located in St. Louis. This position will support a portfolio of commercial properties and work closely with the property management team to ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and lease compliance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Prepare and maintain monthly financial statements for a portfolio of commercial properties.

    + Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.

    + Review accounts payable and receivable for accuracy and timeliness.

    + Assist with CAM, insurance, and tax reconciliations per lease agreements.

    + Support the preparation and analysis of property budgets and forecasts.

    + Monitor capital and tenant improvement projects to ensure accurate cost tracking.

    + Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and relevant regulations.

    + Maintain accurate and organized records for all properties assigned.

    Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

    + Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in real estate or property management.

    + Strong understanding of GAAP and property-level accounting principles.

    + Experience with property management/accounting software. Skyline experience is a plus.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.

    + Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.

    + Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively.
