Patricia Wesson with Robert Half is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join our team in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will oversee key financial processes, including payroll management, tax reporting, financial analysis, and general ledger reconciliation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring their accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts regularly and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Manage payroll processing, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Coordinate tax reporting activities, including quarterly payroll taxes, annual 1099 preparation, and property tax filings.
• Support retirement plan administration by managing contributions and coordinating enrollments.
• Oversee benefits renewals and ensure compliance with Section 125 and Section 132 plans.
• Collaborate with external providers to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and benefits.
• Provide detailed financial analysis to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
• Assist with audits by preparing necessary reports and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement efficiencies.

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in general ledger management and financial reporting.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with payroll processing and tax reporting requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
