Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Reston, Virginia. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing financial records, analyzing cost trends, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and possess strong technical skills in accounting systems and processes.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze cost trends related to labor, materials, inventory, and operational processes to provide actionable insights.

• Maintain accurate fixed asset records, including performing depreciation calculations and account reconciliations.

• Prepare comprehensive budgets, financial forecasts, journal entries, and monthly close reports.

• Assist in audits and financial reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Develop detailed reports and dashboards using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools to track costs and financial performance.

• Support month-end and year-end close processes by ensuring all entries and reconciliations are completed accurately.

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to maintain smooth cash flow operations.

• Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance to ensure financial accuracy.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and systems. Requirements

• Proven experience in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

• Strong proficiency in performing bank reconciliations and general ledger management.

• Hands-on experience with journal entries and month-end close procedures.

• Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP.

• Advanced skills in creating financial reports and dashboards using tools like Excel and Power BI.

• Solid understanding of fixed asset accounting, including depreciation and reconciliation.

• Ability to analyze financial data and identify cost trends effectively.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
