Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Data Entry - Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Kansas City, Missouri. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our account's payable operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting software and a commitment to maintaining high standards of financial integrity.

Responsibilities:

• Process and verify invoices to ensure timely and accurate payment to vendors.

• Utilize accounting software systems such as Great Plains, IBM AS/400, and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne to manage financial data.

• Perform data entry tasks with precision to maintain accurate records of all transactions.

• Reconcile discrepancies in accounts payable and resolve issues with vendors or internal departments.

• Prepare and process checks in accordance with company policies and procedures.

• Collaborate with the finance team to support month-end and year-end closing activities.

• Monitor accounts payable aging reports and take actions to address overdue payments.

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company guidelines in all account's payable activities.

• Maintain organized and thorough documentation for audits and internal reviews.

• Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency of accounts payable operations.

Requirements

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial documentation.

• Solid organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Effective communication skills for liaising with vendors and internal teams.

• Proficiency in accounting software systems such as Great Plains, IBM AS/400, and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, preferred.

• Strong knowledge of accounts payable procedures and general accounting practices, preferred.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting, preferred.

• Prior experience in check processing and financial reconciliation is preferred.
