Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in Niagara Falls, New York. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting records, and providing critical financial insights. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of general ledger processes.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and input accurate journal entries into the general ledger.

• Analyze accrued expense accounts to ensure proper period allocation and accuracy.

• Review journal entries submitted by Staff Accountants and ensure compliance with established standards.

• Identify and report significant variances during the month-end closing process.

• Compile and review monthly internal general ledger reports for distribution to management teams.

• Reconcile all general ledger accounts on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

• Maintain and oversee the monthly reconciliation checklist to track departmental account reconciliations.

• Provide financial insights and support to operations and senior management as needed. Requirements • Proven experience in preparing and managing general ledger journal entries.

• Strong knowledge of accrued expense analysis and reconciliation processes.

• Familiarity with reviewing and posting journal entries from other accounting staff.

• Ability to identify and explain variances in financial reports during closing periods.

• Proficiency in preparing general ledger account reconciliations and internal reports.

• Excellent organizational skills to manage monthly reconciliation checklists and ensure compliance.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency with accounting systems and tools, with a focus on general ledger and fixed assets.
