    Position Summary:

    Sovah Danville is seeking a full-time Clinical Instructor who will be responsible for the supervision, evaluation, and grading of students in the clinical environments as scheduled. The Clinical Instructor is also responsible for maintaining positive relations with the clinical site management, technologists, and support staff in order to create a positive clinical experience for all parties. The Clinical Instructor serves as a member of the Advisory Committee and holds an equal responsibility in the program’s accreditation processes.

     

    * Collaborates with nurse managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.

    * Designs, delivers, and assesses learning activities and curriculums related to clinical competencies, departmental/organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and the use of clinical information technologies.

    * Assigns students with patients, clinical units/agencies based on course objectives and ability of students.

    * Supervises and teaches students in the clinical area.

    * Serves as a consultant/mentor for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.

    * Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of new staff orientation and education activities.

    * Documents students performance and evaluates students’ achievement of course objectives, using program forms and policies.

    * Constructs tests using item analysis and current test practices as prescribed by the JRCERT and ARRT.

    * Helps develop policies and procedures for students in the academic and clinical setting.

    * Participates in peer review.

    * Assists with Radiologic Technology Program compliance with JRCERT, SCHEV, and ABHES standards/criteria.

    *Minimum Education*

    * A graduate of a program in Radiologic Technology is required.

    *Required Skills*

    * Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

    * Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA) required.

    * Membership in the Virginia and American Societies of Radiologic Technologists preferred.
