    Job Title: Analytical Technician

    Job Description

    The Analytical Technician will play a pivotal role in supporting various short- and long-term research projects under the guidance of a Research Scientist. This position involves hands-on laboratory work, including testing customer implementations of microorganisms, analyzing data, and maintaining precise records. The incumbent will collaborate with different departments to compile, analyze, and interpret data, contributing significantly to both internal and customer-driven research projects.

    Responsibilities

    + Contribute to research projects from inception through completion.

    + Perform laboratory techniques and protocols related to Analytical Chemistry, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance.

    + Conduct preliminary work, including plating organisms and lysozyme testing.

    + Test organisms against known pathogens to assess growth inhibition.

    + Modify and perform digestion tests to evaluate organism survival and sugar, acid release.

    + Participate in weekly meetings to discuss project progress.

    + Maintain accurate and timely records of test results.

    + Work collaboratively with various departments to compile, analyze, and interpret data.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with organisms/bacteria, including 1+ year of experience, which may include undergraduate research.

    + Understanding of bacterial plates and aseptic techniques.

    + Proficiency in basic laboratory skills such as pipetting, weighing, and dilutions.

    + Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    + Ability to work in a team environment with individuals who may not speak English as their first language.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Minimum Associate's Degree in Biology, Microbiology, or a related field.

    + Current Bachelor's students are also welcome to apply.

    + Previous laboratory experience.

    + Knowledge of Quality Control and cGMP.

    + Experience with PCR, Real-Time PCR, Microbial plating, ELISA, SDS-Page.

    + Strong attention to detail for accurate and reproducible data.

    + Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

    + Task-oriented and results-driven with a strong work ethic.

    + Experience in designing, collecting, and writing publishable research.

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    Work Environment

    The work environment includes a temporary space with 4 team members, including a manager and research chemist. The lab is expanding and acquiring more equipment, with plans to move out of the temporary space in the future. The position follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 8 am to 5 pm, with the earliest start at 5:30 am. Initially, new team members will work closely with others for training.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
