Hiring for an Electrical Designer
Job Description
The Electrical Designer is tasked with supporting and creating electrical designs and wiring diagrams of low complexity for a variety of industrial data acquisition and control modules associated with jet engine testing. Working under the direction of the Electrical Engineering Manager and alongside Electrical Engineers, the designer will ensure tasks are completed in compliance with quality and standards.
Responsibilities
+ Create detailed wiring diagrams for industrial data acquisition, control systems, and cable assemblies using AutoCAD Electrical.
+ Work under supervision to complete tasks on schedule and within budget, ensuring cost-effective designs that meet technical and contractual requirements.
+ Develop designs and drawings in compliance with industry and company standards.
+ Provide feedback on work progress and status to engineering management.
+ Collaborate closely with a team of electrical engineers, drafters, and management to develop project deliverables.
+ Work in accordance with company processes and Quality Management System.
+ Continually acquire knowledge necessary for job assignments and improve technology, products, and processes through training opportunities.
+ Convert specifications, sketches, customer layout drawings, and instructions into detailed drawings under supervision.
+ Participate actively in a continuous improvement culture by providing recommendations and implementing enhancements to current methods and procedures.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in electrical design and AutoCAD Electrical for schematic creation.
+ An AAS Degree in Electrical Technology or related field.
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design and CAD design (AutoCAD Electrical).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associates degree in Electrical Technology or related field or 2+ years related industry experience.
+ High School diploma or GED required.
+ Preferred regulatory experience with CE and ATEX.
+ Experience in designing electrical systems using AutoCAD Electrical, including data acquisition and control systems, power distribution systems, wiring harnesses, junction boxes, and building electrical ducting and services.
+ Basic understanding of electrical design concepts, standards, and practices.
+ Exceptional communication skills for accurate information conveyance and effective listening.
+ Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness, actively seeking opportunities to improve quality.
+ Self-motivated and organized with the ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment.
+ Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships at all levels.
+ Knowledge of MS Office programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Work Environment
The role involves working in a lab environment, collaborating cross-functionally with other teams and engineers.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $38.46/hr.
