    Job Title: Quality SpecialistJob Description

     

    The Quality Specialist will play a crucial role in contributing to innovations by setting up and executing experiments at laboratory pilot scale. The position involves working closely with project managers and scientists in the field of nutritional drinks powders and food supplements, aiming to deliver nutrients in enjoyable formats to consumers.

    Responsibilities

    + Organize and execute experiments at laboratory scale in full alignment with project managers and scientists, utilizing techniques such as dry blending, drying, high pressure homogenization, tableting, powder characterization, microscopy, and extrusion.

    + Set up new methods and innovative experimental approaches to address scientific and technical challenges.

    + Assist in scaling up recipes from laboratory scale to pilot plant scale.

    + Work in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices, including 5S, calibration, maintenance of equipment, SOP, and the Internal Control Plan.

    + Propose and implement digital tools to improve efficiency in laboratories.

    + Maintain a list of chemicals, be responsible for ordering materials, and ensure flawless execution of day-to-day experiments in laboratories.

    + Assess stability of products during shelf life, including color, sediments, phase separation, viscosity, and caking.

    + Support the organization of Ideation and Innovation workshops.

    + Maintain and implement safety measures in laboratories.

    + Reduce waste and propose solutions to improve sustainability in laboratories.

    + Train students and interns to accelerate innovation projects.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Sciences (Food Science preferred).

    + 2 years of industry lab testing experience in Food or Pharma.

    + Testing skills including mixing, following SOPs, physical testing, and scale up testing from benchtop to pilot plant.

    + Experience with Quality and Food Safety Programs such as HACCP, GMP, FSSC22000, Foreign Bodies and Allergens Controls.

    + Proficiency in documentation, batch records, thermal process, laboratory SOPs, and wet chemistry.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Core knowledge of the 10 Principles and expert knowledge in areas of responsibility.

    + Knowledge of different Lab R&D methodologies, procedures, and processes.

    + Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency related to safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Good Laboratory Practices.

    + Focus on product and quality.

    + Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.

    + Computer-literate with proficiency in MS-Office and LIMS software.

    + Local language and basic level of English (written and oral).

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
