    Job Description:

    This position serves as a Research Coordinator for the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology in the A.I. Queen Lab in the Center for Cognitive Aging and Memory (CAM), coordinating with the department staff and faculty in all aspects of assigned research projects as directed. The incumbent will be supervised by the Assistant Director of CAM, Dr. Aprinda Queen (https://phhp.ufl.edu/profile/queen-aprinda/).

    Job responsibilities include the following:

    Conduct Study Visits

     

    + Conduct study visits following research related protocols, ensuring research and laboratory safety.

    + Collect participant forms and documents such as consent forms, medical history, and medication inventory.

    + Administer psychological questionnaires.

    + Perform research procedures and tests such as magnetic resonance imaging, cognitive testing, and physical performance testing.

     

    Coordinate Daily activities of Research Studies

     

    + Schedule research participants while observing study-imposed time windows.

    + Track study activities and deviations.

    + Work closely with Principal Investigators (PIs) to identify, recruit and enroll potential study participants. Develop recruitment materials.

    + Communicate with study Medical Director on participant adverse events (AEs) and serious adverse events (SAEs).

    + Issue study documents. Create and maintain source documents. Ensure that study documents are organized and preserved in the REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) system.

    + As needed, assist with research billing documents, and assist with IRB reviews and other research related compliance reports and tasks.

     

    Neuroimaging Data Processing

     

    + Responsible for planning and performing the systematic processing of neuroimaging data in preparation for analysis.

    + Conduct analyses using a finite element method (FEM) pipeline to generate current flow models, involving tasks such as segmentation, electrode construction, volume meshing, and solution generation in accordance with lab protocols.

    + Create and update lab tutorials related to the computational workflow, ensuring they reflect ongoing improvements and newly developed methods.

     

    Communications

     

    + Assist with communications to research participants, PI’s, and team members, in-person and via phone, mail, and email.

    + Receive study participants and aid during the check-in and out process. Update participant tracking logs as needed.

    Administrative Duties

    + Obtain quotes for lab equipment and coordinate purchase orders.

    + Monitor lab supplies and notify appropriate personnel of replacement.

    + As needed, perform phone screens, data entry, and IRB related clerical duties.

     

    Research Oversight

     

    + Oversee the research activities of OPS, Graduate Assistants, and volunteers.

    + Assist with training new employees in research-related activities.

    Expected Salary:

    $47,000 - $49,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience.

    Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Previous experience in human participants research studies.

    + Ability to work collaboratively.

    + Familiarity with UF research policies, procedures, and systems (including Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap), and statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS)).

    + Previous research experience in study protocols, IRB, and managing research data.

    + Previous research experience in finite element methods (FEM) and neuroimaging processing pipelines.

    + Previous experience preparing research-related manuscripts and presentations, experience with

     

    quantitative sensory testing, MRI-related research, and safety.

     

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (ex. Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

    + Strong organizational, interpersonal and team building skills.
