    As a Supervisor with our Process Engineering team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and management of the Simulation Group, a subgroup of ASG Process Engineering, supporting successful system execution and meeting customer expectations in line with the objectives and strategies of ASG.

     

    You need to be a strategic thinking problem-solver who is professional, customer-focused, and results-oriented with proven experience effectively leading, developing, and motivating teams from all backgrounds and experience levels, as well as partnering with customers to ensure final products exceed expectations.

     

    Primary responsibilities will include

     

    + Develop and implement plans guiding the overall direction of workcell development in virtual environment(s)

    + Provide leadership and coordination for Simulation engineers

    + Direct supervision of simulation engineers

    + Manage and assign resources to accurately complete tasks per ASG project schedules

    + Provide accurate resource assessment to meet system execution requirements

    + Monitor allocated hours, tasks, manpower capacity, and capabilities

    + Make certain proposed solutions meet the required capacity parameters such as throughput (JPH), cycle time, yearly capacity

    + Ensure that all the R&M data (e.g. MTTR, MTBF, reject rate, availability) are accurately captured and utilized in throughput simulations

    + Identify bottlenecks and present solutions to right size the capacity of an operation

    + Development and training of personnel within the department

    + Development of employee performance plans and performance appraisals on an annual basis

    + Develop personnel skill sets, growth and career planning for all levels of experience

    + Identify, coordinate, and implement tools to improve department efficiency and accuracy

    + Develop Roles and Responsibilities for Process and Simulation engineering

    + Define roles/tasks of Simulation Engineer

    + Keep up to date with industry trends and champion the use of most recent advances in new software to stay competitive

    + Gain knowledge of customer requirements and develop standard guidelines

    + Provide Simulation support to projects as needed to ensure projects are on track or during times of resource availability conflicts

    + Provide regular project and departmental reports to management

    + Workload assignments and capacity

    + Performance, skill level, and training of engineers

    + Support development and monitoring of engineering resources external to FAC.

    + Attend proposal reviews, project meetings, design reviews and support integration and hardware builds

    + Support ASG sales and proposal engineering

    + Develop relationships with leaders in all groups to resolve issues or implement improvements

    + Support and adherence to corporate ISO quality processes

    + Other duties as assigned

     

    Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education

     

    + High School Diploma or GED Required

    + Bachelor’s degree in industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Aerospace Engineering, or related area; or equivalent relevant experience

    + Exposure and basic understanding of PLC and other controls hardware (HMI, safety apparatus, sensors etc.)

    + Proficient in industry standard simulation software such as Siemens Process Simulate, Rockwell Emulate 3D, Siemens Plant Simulation, FANUC ROBOGUIDE (equivalent software experience will be considered)

    + Has deployed cells using Virtual Commissioning utilizing the simulation software mentioned above, and connected PLC , HMI and Robot controller virtually to gain accurate cycle time estimates, PLC scan time estimates and validate sequence and error recovery with software engineers

    + Has performed throughput simulations using discrete event simulation software (Siemens Plant Sim, AutoMod, Rockwell Arena)

    + Exposure and basic understanding of how AMR are utilized in the automotive industry, ability to setup simulation path for the same

    + Demonstrated skills and knowledge of safety standards (ANSI/RIA R15.06-2012, ISO 10218-1), robotic system safety and risk assessment

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Master’s Degree in related field

    + 6+ years of experience in process/systems engineering

    + 3+ years of experience in a management or supervisory role, or project management function (proven experience leading and guiding the work of others, while developing and implementing overall engineering strategies of large robotic systems)
