The **Global Packaging Engineer Manager** will lead and direct the company's packaging engineering efforts across all global operations. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in packaging design and implementation. The Global Packaging Engineer Manager will oversee a team of packaging engineers, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Purchasing, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and vendors to ensure packaging solutions meet business objectives, quality standards, and global market requirements. This position involves strategic leadership in optimizing packaging processes, materials, and equipment on a global scale.

How You’ll Make an Impact

+ Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of packaging engineers. Implement and oversee a standardized project work process, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet safety and quality standards. Foster a strong partnership with regional and international project management teams.

+ Develop and implement a comprehensive global packaging strategy. Drive the optimization of existing packaging equipment and lines worldwide by integrating and automating components and systems. Champion initiatives to increase flexibility and standardize packaging equipment and layouts where feasible across all global sites.

+ Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Quality, and Purchasing on the development and launch of new packaging concepts and promotional programs globally. Establish and provide performance characteristics for new designs, identifying potential impacts on packaging line performance and recommending design modifications to enhance performance or reduce costs.

+ Drive "Green/Sustainability" packaging initiatives across the globe. Stay abreast of new, innovative, and state-of-the-art packaging materials and technologies, recommending and implementing solutions to drive cost reduction or market leadership. Evaluate packaging for opportunities to reduce carbon footprint and incorporate recycled materials. Represent the company in relevant industry coalitions and task forces.

+ Serve as the primary subject matter expert for packaging, providing guidance to procurement and other internal teams. Develop and maintain performance and material specifications for all packaging components used globally. Manage and maintain the global Packaging Specification Database. Evaluate and qualify potential vendors and assist with contingency planning.

What You’ll Need

+ 4-Year College Degree in Engineering (Packaging, Mechanical, or related field).

+ 10-15 years of progressive experience in consumer products packaging, including significant experience in project execution and product commercialization from packaging material development to product shipment.

+ Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role with global responsibilities.

+ Experience managing a global team of engineers.

+ Strong leadership and team management skills with experience in a global environment.

+ Expertise in line integration, project management, and field implementation.

+ In-depth knowledge of packaging equipment (mechanical and controls).

+ Proficiency in Auto-CAD, SAP, MS programs, and palletization software (e.g., CAPE).

+ Excellent understanding of packaging materials, sustainability practices, and global packaging regulations.

+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

+ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

+ Ability to travel up to 50% (global travel included)

+ Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
