    Job Summary

    Job Summary:

    The Office of Alumni Relations (U Alumni) seeks an energetic, creative, collaborative, team-oriented and outgoing professional to support the work being done in U Alumni’s chapter program. The **Alumni Chapters Manager** will join a team of professionals to help advance the mission of U Alumni: Creating, fostering, and preserving lifelong relationships between the university and U alumni, U students, and the community. We align with the University of Utah and University President’s mission and strategy, while engaging alumni early, broadly, and to varied alumni communities; preparing students to become engaged alumni; establishing a culture of philanthropy; and encouraging pride in the U.

     

    The Alumni Chapters Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of programs within U Alumni’s chapter program, including event programming and execution, volunteer engagement, and developing strategy. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, strong self-starter, and work to develop and maintain U Alumni’s reputation with alumni, donors, and volunteers while achieving goals.

     

    The successful candidate will be a relationship builder with a passion for working with internal stakeholders, collaborating closely with campus colleagues, managing chapter volunteers, and working with the Alumni Engagement Team to build affinity to U Alumni through events, philanthropy, programming, and volunteer opportunities. They will have strong written and verbal communication skills, time-management and organizational skills, social and emotional intelligence, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects. They will be a creative and detail-oriented self-starter with a strong work ethic and customer service orientation. A successful candidate must have knowledge of managing large volunteer-based programs, board and committee organization, development and fundraising, and building relationships among volunteers and colleagues.

    Responsibilities

    J **ob Responsibilities:**

    - Manages, strengthens, and oversees the strategy and operations of U Alumni’s chapters, including, but not limited to:

    + Builds relationships with alumni and enhances the visibility of the Office of Alumni Relations to U Alumni chapters.

    + Identifies and cultivates potential volunteers for leadership positions in U Alumni chapters locally and across the world

    + Leads chapter strategic direction, events and strategic engagement. Develops and maintains a portfolio of volunteers, both locally and regionally.

    + Facilitates efforts between chapter leaders and alumni staff on student mentorship, Alumni Day of Service projects, watch parties, and other events.

    + Works to grow, develop, and implement new chapters.

    + Organizes quarterly chapter leadership meetings. Plans and leads alumni events, both regionally and locally.

     

    - Supervises the alumni chapters student intern.

     

    - Facilitates cooperative and collaborative relationships both in the U Alumni office and with on-campus partners, community members, and other institutions.

     

    - Contributes to the CASE Alumni Engagement Score through collecting and maintaining accurate and relevant engagement data.

     

    - Collaborates with colleagues on creative digital engagement opportunities with alumni chapters.

     

    - Works closely with the marketing and communications team to advertise and promote alumni chapter activities and events.

     

    - Consistently benchmarks progress on assigned programs by reviewing the work of peer institutions, and CASE best practices.

     

    - Represents the University of Utah, both nationally and internationally, at the highest level with university leadership, centers and institutes, and other leaders.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Department specific Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration, a related area, or equivalent experience (One year of education is equivalent to two years of experience).

    + Four years of progressively more related experience, and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communication skills also required.
