Rehabilitation Counselor

The Opportunity

Family and Children’s Association (FCA) is seeking a Vocational Counselor to support the educational and vocational development of individuals receiving services at the Family Treatment and Recovery Centers. The Vocational Counselor will provide assessments, training, and referral services while working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct comprehensive vocational, educational, and work readiness assessments for clients enrolled in substance use programs.

+ Collaborate with clients and Primary Clinicians to develop individualized vocational rehabilitation plans outlining short- and long-term goals.

+ Provide ongoing vocational counseling, meeting with clients at least once monthly to support goal achievement.

+ Design and deliver pre-vocational and vocational curricula in both individual and group settings to enhance client engagement in employment, training, and educational opportunities.

+ Establish and maintain relationships with community-based educational, vocational, and employment services to facilitate client referrals.

+ Offer employment retention and career advancement support to promote long-term success in the workforce.

+ Participate as an active member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, contributing to case conferences, team meetings, and in-service trainings.

+ Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including case records and statistical reports, in compliance with agency and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

+ Master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation or a closely related field.

+ Minimum of one year of experience providing career counseling to individuals with substance use disorders and/or other underserved populations.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

+ Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
