    The Art Program Manager is responsible for the overall coordination and management of Direct Support Services delivered by the Living Resources Arts Program. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the primary supervision of all Art Program Direct Support Professionals (Art Instructors), providing ongoing training / documentation, mentoring / performance oversight, and professional development to Art Instructors, and ensuring that services are being delivered at the highest possible caliber and will act as an advocate for all program participants. The Art Program Manager will support the Arts Program to achieve identifiable and sustainable growth in a manner which does not compromise the quality of services delivered.

    Essential Responsibilities

    + Work with Arts Program DSPs to ensure Participants’ satisfaction with services

    + Collaborate with Arts Program colleagues to ensure all classes are appropriately staffed

    + Provide staff relief as needed during vacations, emergency absences, or unforeseen circumstances

     

    Staff Training and Development

     

    + Provide and document training of staff on program specific practices and procedures

    + Train DSPs on Paylocity functions to include punching in, transferring between studios, taking lunch/breaks, and punching out

    + Train DSPs to follow COVID-19 protocols to include the proper use of masks, completion of COVID-19 screening forms, and safety protocols during transportation

    + Train DSPs on service documentation in NXto include DSRs, Monthly Notes, and digital attendance

    + Train DSPs on reporting procedures to include the completion of Behavior Observations, Incident Reports, and Jonathan’s Law in a timely manner.

    + Train DSP on the correct process of documenting transportation to include mileage, pre-trip checks and gas purchases. Conduct and document driving assessments as needed.

    + Deliver and document art studio specific trainings as needed

    + Review DSPs mandatory trainings and assist with scheduling trainings quarterly

    + Train DSPs on classroom management and conflict resolution

     

    Operational Oversight and Development

     

    + Ensure effective communication between Arts Program AD, QIDP Supervisor, QIDPs and DSPs

    + Act as a resource to ensure that Participants are receiving the highest quality services

    + Model best instructional practices and person-centered services to DSPs during the real-world delivery of services

    + Coordinates with the Intake Coordinator & Staff Recruiter to participate in prospective staff interviews, arrange studio visits, and support new hires to as they navigate the onboarding process to include the timely submission of required documents, completion of Schoox, and in-person trainings.

    + Work with Arts Program staff to ensure that all vehicle documentation is accurately completed and submitted within the appropriate time frame and support the expansion of the Art Program’s fleet management as needed.

     

    General (Program Administration)

     

    + Participate in appropriate meetings

    + Provide support to Arts Program QIDPS and DSPs as needed

    + Participate on cross-functional committees when requested

    + Work on the program schedule as needed with the Arts Program AD and staff

    + Develop and conduct systemized internal program audits for Arts Program QIDPs

    + Assist in the transition planning for new applications

    Requirements

    + One year’s experience in providing services to persons with intellectual disabilities and the ability to meet the qualifications outlined in one of the following categories

    + 4-year Bachelor's degree required/ strong artistic background with proven record of art instruction and production preferred

    + Background in working with persons with developmental disabilities or related experience

    + Course work/experience in a variety of art mediums

    + Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation required

    + Excellent communication, organizational, problem solving and leadership skills

    + The ability to be flexible and work independently
