_What’s the job?_
Meldin- and Hycomp- are the 2 brands of Omniseal solutions, for high temperature polymer materials product family.- These polyimides based material are used in a large variety of high tech markets as Aerospace, Semiconductor or Life sciences to offer mechanical components solutions with and wear & friction properties.
The Product manager has the global responsibility of a product line has a strong focus on developing and re-enforcing competitiveness and value proposition of its product line.
They are the product -referent - and will have to communicate and provide this expertise through the business, with the goal of bringing our commercial teams to a high level of awareness about our offer and capabilities, and the capacity of developing a dialog with customers based on value offered by our solutions.
The candidate will have to be able to coordinate different projects around its product line with cross functional teams. All these projects aiming at bringing more transversality between market groups.
Examples of projects are:
+ New Product Development
+ Product roadmap development and follow up
+ New products certification (Industry qualifications)
+ New features and services First partners of this position, will be the technical team, Operations teams, R&D or commercial teams.
This position has no direct reports and requires an individual who has proficient interpersonal skills to achieve results by cooperation. Projects to be led by this person can be local, regional or international.- The role will involve up to 50% travel.
Product strategy – Development, maintenance and execution of product road map:
+ Based on a yearly product canvas analysis, individual has to develop a road map for its product line. This roadmap supports developing a mid-term /long term product strategy with proper level of priority to meet clusters needs. The goal is also to provide a vision for the product line to include the proper level of competitiveness and manage the product life cycle. The product strategy aims at developing new services and features for the product line to enrich customer experience, including product qualification and certification to market standard defined and required by cluster for their strategy execution. Product line extension with integration of new product, and clear definition of product positioning
Innovation strategy around the product line :
+ Management of new product development portfolio of projects by setting up priorities defined by adequate business cases
Product competitiveness - Cost management and pricing strategy:
+ Analysis to be completed and maintained about cost structure of product line and understanding of most impactful drivers, leading to action plan for keeping good level of competitiveness. Action plan can include initiatives about production methods improvement, supply chain rationalization or possible partnership. Goal of this strategy being driven by information coming from a good understanding of market price level. Pricing strategy coming from those exercise will have to be global and include specificity of local area.
Customer project management and screening:
+ Take the lead on some complex customer project to provide good level of coordination, and quick turnaround of project. They act as an advisor to help clusters to select proper customers with good fit with our product offering and eliminate the ones with low fit and chance of success
Training and Marcom:
+ Needs to work at establishing market credibility for its product line, through initiatives via product trainings, white papers, webinars etc
+ Bachelor’s Degree - Business, Engineering, Economics or other market development related field is required. Masters is preferred
+ Proven track record in global business and market development in either sales or marketing function – at least 5+ years experience is required.
+ Previous Sales, R&D experience; new product development – at least 2+ years experience required.
+ Technical understanding of the BU product portfolio capabilities and their targeted applications.
+ Knowledge of common Product Management practices, procedures and analytical methodologies.
+ Knowledge of Polymeric Materials and Processing Technologies is highly preferred.
+ Proven analytical review of economical drivers to understand cost structure and pricing strategy to develop for product lines.
+ Experience of analysis of the competitive environment to lead benchmarking studies and determine differential value added offered by our solutions (tangible and intangible benefits)

Pay Transparency:
Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $102,000.00 to $158,000.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $115,200.00 to $178,500.00. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
