    Overview

     

    Kimley-Horn's Alpharetta, Georgia (GA) office is seeking an civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience in structural design or structural forensics to join their Vertical Building Structures team.

    Responsibilities

    + • You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of project types, such as multifamily, mission critical facilities, office, mixed-use, hospitality and municipal.• Analyze and design structural members and systems in a variety of material types, including reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete, structural steel, wood, cold-formed metal framing and CMU.• Analyze and design both shallow and deep foundation systems.• Prepare structural plans, details and specifications for clients.• Participate in construction phase activities, such as review of shop drawings, response to inquiries from the construction team, and site visits.• As a critical member of the team, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks and will receive both on-the-job and formal training as well as mentorship and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions.

    Qualifications

    + • 2+ years experience with a consulting/design engineering firm• Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university• "Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)• Experience utilizing structural analysis/design software programs, such as ETABS, RAM Structural System, RAM Concept, RISA, EnerCalc, TEDDS• Experience utilizing REVIT• Strong ability to conceptualize in 3D space• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines• Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment• Ability to work independently and as a team• This is not a remote position.
