    Job Description

    Business Unit Overview

    8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings’ private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. (“THL”), a private equity firm.

    Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Worker (2nd shift) is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility machinery and building infrastructure. The primary function of this position is to preventatively and reactively respond to workorders for manufacturing process equipment keeping equipment maintained to acceptable levels. There will also be basic building maintenance and repairs.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Repair mechanical issues of facility machinery as requested by the maintenance manager/supervisor on a daily basis. Ability to follow GMP and food safety requirements in a food production environment. Improve the functioning of the machinery by making mechanical adjustments and performing preventative maintenance. Perform basic building maintenance and repairs including but not limited to drywall repairs, painting, and any other such type of activities that may arise from time to time. Complete and create daily mechanical maintenance and repair workorders and deliver them to the maintenance supervisor/coordinator. Clean and maintain work area after mechanical work has been performed on a daily basis. Perform quality welding and electrical work as required. Other duties, as assigned Education & Experience Required: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of two (2) years of technical/mechanical experience in Food Production

    Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

    Associate's degree or certificate from two-year College or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with Food Packaging and Sanitary Environments. Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic systems and Control System knowledge an asset. Experience with High-Speed Packaging Machinery and industrial electrical PLC preferred. Forklift, High Reach certificate. Positive, proactive and self-motivated with leadership qualities. An organized problem solver, able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm. Exceptional verbal and written communication. Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).

     

    **Physical Requirements:** Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation: Must be able to periodically lift / move up to 50 lbs. Ability to climb and work from ladders and elevated surfaces. Shift: 2nd shift (3:00 - 11:30 pm)
