    Job Description: Senior Director, Downstream Marketing

     

    Division: Breast & Skeletal Health Solutions

     

    Hologic is seeking an accomplished and dynamic Senior Director, Downstream Marketing to lead the strategic and operational marketing efforts within the Breast & Skeletal Health Solutions division. This pivotal role requires an experienced leader with deep expertise in the medical device industry, who can successfully balance multi-year strategic planning with hands-on team leadership and development.

     

    The Senior Director will be responsible for driving the downstream marketing strategy, overseeing, and ensuring the successful execution of marketing initiatives to enhance customer engagement and drive business growth. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to address customer issues promptly and effectively. This individual will also play a critical role in fostering a high-performing, collaborative team culture that aligns with Hologic’s mission and values. In addition, the role will partner closely with sales leadership enabling revenue growth.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Strategic Leadership:

    + Set vision and direction for downstream marketing function.

    + Experience and proven results in leading large, matrixed groups of employees, making authoritative business decisions and accounting for results.

    + Develop, own and execute strategic initiatives focused on and driven by the Annual Marketing Plan.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams (upstream marketing, sales, R&D, and clinical teams) to align marketing strategies with broader business objectives.

    + Develop and drive franchise commercial launch and go-to market strategies with actionable plans, influencing acceptance by internal senior management, sales leadership and field sales force to gain alignment and buy-in. Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights to inform strategic direction and identify new opportunities for innovation and expansion.

    Team Development & Leadership:

    + Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing downstream marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.

    + Prioritize the professional development of team members through coaching, training, and career growth opportunities.

    + Build a diverse and inclusive team environment that reflects Hologic’s commitment to excellence and employee engagement.

    + Assess and ingrate structural changes required as market, customer, sales and business needs change.

    + Seek a high degree of collaboration with other cross-divisional downstream marketing leaders.

    Marketing Execution:

    + Oversee the planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns, product launches, and customer engagement initiatives to drive awareness and adoption of Hologic’s solutions.

    + Develops marketing policies and authorizes implementation.

    + Ensure effective communication of product value propositions and differentiation to both internal and external audiences.

    + Proactively develop relationships and interact with customers and Key Opinion Leaders to maximize and accelerate the development of new products.

    + Manage the development of marketing collateral, digital assets, and tools to support the sales team and enhance customer education.

    + Develop, measure and drive Marketing Key Performance Indicators providing a communication cadence of results.

    Performance Management:

    + Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of marketing strategies and campaigns.

    + Drive continuous improvement by analyzing campaign outcomes, customer feedback, and market data to optimize future initiatives.

    + Manage the downstream marketing budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and aligned with strategic priorities.

    Qualifications:

    + Experience: 12-15 years of progressive leadership experience within the medical device industry, with demonstrated success in downstream marketing, product management, and team leadership. Proven track record and demonstrated experience developing and deploying successful marketing concepts and practices.

    + Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

    + Industry Expertise: Deep knowledge of the medical device landscape, particularly in women’s health, breast imaging, skeletal health, or related areas.

    + Travel: position will require 30-40% travel.

    + Strategic Vision: Proven ability to develop and execute multi-year strategic marketing plans in a complex, highly regulated industry.

    + Leadership Skills: Strong track record of building and leading high-performing teams, with a focus on employee engagement, development, and retention.

    + Analytical Acumen: Ability to leverage data-driven insights to inform marketing strategies, optimize campaigns, and measure success.

    + Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
