As an Information Security Professional supporting MNIT DOC, you will be responsible for leading the Department of Corrections (DOC)information security efforts including the planning and implementing DOC-wide information security products, services, providing guidance to DOC users, participates in DOC project assignments, and developing DOC information security policies, standards and guidelines.
The position is responsible for identifying, mitigating, coordinating, evaluating, and reporting on information security risks, ensure DOC compliance with regulatory requirements and design anticipatory responses to minimize information risk. The position acts as the focal point in the DOC for information security projects, and coordinates necessary alignment with internal DOC staff, IT staff, Enterprise IT resources, other State agencies, and related third parties as needed.
The position communicates and coordinates directly with State of Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) as the DOC Local Agency Security Officer (LASO) to address the requirements of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Security Policy as they apply to the DOC environment.
This position requires an employee to be onsite in St Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location.

Minimum Qualifications

Position requires a minimum of four (4) years of IT related experience in an information security role.
Experience must include:
+ Planning, developing, implementing IT security.
+ Knowledge of risk management principles and models.
+ Understanding of fundamentals of infrastructure, application, network and web technology.
+ Knowledge in developing and implementing short- and long-range business technology security plans.
+ Knowledge in developing, acquiring, communicating, and applying performance measures to evaluate and improve the risk posture.
+ Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
+ Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer or information technology field.
+ Experience or working knowledge of facility security system technologies.
+ Experience as a Local Agency Security Officer (LASO).
+ Certified Information Systems Security Professional Certification (CISSP) or similar certification.
+ Experience or working knowledge of Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS).
