We work with partners in over 150 countries to eliminate diseases, ensure access to vaccines and essential medicines, and strengthen health systems to protect populations. Established in early 2020 with support from the Gates Foundation, the HCE Coalition unites global and country leaders, donors, multilateral organizations, and NGOs from various large-scale health campaign domains. Hosted by The Task Force for Global Health, the HCE Program Office provides crucial programmatic and secretariat support, driving strategy development, convening, advocacy, partnership engagement, and knowledge synthesis. Are you a strategic communications leader passionate about global health and making a tangible impact? The Task Force for Global Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Communications Associate Director to shape the narrative and amplify the reach of the Health Campaign Effectiveness (HCE) Coalition. This is a unique opportunity to drive strategic communication initiatives for a vital global partnership dedicated to strengthening health campaigns worldwide. You'll collaborate with global leaders, multilateral organizations, and NGOs to disseminate critical knowledge, foster collaboration, and enhance the effectiveness of life-saving health interventions in over 150 countries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Lead Strategic Communications: Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies and plans to raise awareness and drive the adoption of HCE Program and Coalition products. You'll define strategic objectives, ensure alignment with program priorities, and continuously evaluate communication effectiveness.
+ Shape Our Story: Lead the creation of compelling and culturally sensitive content across various channels, including newsletters, blogs, press releases, social media, and multimedia materials. You'll manage the entire content lifecycle, from writing and design to production.
+ Amplify Our Voice: Drive program messaging and brand identity, ensuring consistency and impact across all communications. You'll represent the HCE Coalition at conferences and meetings, promoting our work to industry leaders and strategic partners.
+ Collaborate & Connect: Act as a key liaison to communications and advocacy teams within global health partner organizations. You'll oversee communications activities across the Coalition, fostering coordinated efforts and knowledge sharing.
+ Manage Our Digital Footprint: Oversee and manage the HCE Coalition website, ensuring up-to-date content, directing improvements, and curating resources for our knowledge base.
+ Support Impactful Initiatives: Contribute to fundraising efforts through grant writing and engaging with donors, further strengthening our ability to make a difference.
+ Lead with Vision: Supervise and direct communications contractors and consultants, ensuring high-quality outputs that reflect our strategic priorities.
+ In collaboration with leadership, is responsible for developing strategic, comprehensive, and integrated communications objectives for a public/global health program within the Task Force for Global Health (TFGH).
+ Develops communication plans and dissemination tactics for program stakeholders and external audiences.
+ Develops content for diverse communications channels, which may include newsletters, websites, social media, blogs, and presentations.
+ May write grants and participate in efforts to engage current program donors and source new donor funding.
+ May create written materials which support the program's endeavors, including, but not limited to, pamphlets/brochures, peer-reviewed articles, newsletters, and website content, maintaining a consistent, high quality image of the program and its products and services.
+ Prepares program leadership with correspondence development, speeches, fact sheets, or other similar materials.
+ Provides leadership on communications projects, ensuring that communications reflect divisional commitments, strategic priorities, and quality requirements.
+ Drives program and product messaging and brand identity through various communication channels.
+ Promotes the program externally to industry leaders and strategic partners. May represent the program at conferences and meetings.
+ Maintains professional growth and industry knowledge through participating in educational programs and staying abreast of national trends applicable to the program.
+ Performs other duties as required.
Who You Are:
+ You're a strategic thinker with a proven track record in developing and executing impactful communications for global audiences. You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and are passionate about leveraging communication to drive positive change in global health.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, art or other related field, and six years of experience in the development of marketing and informational materials, writing/research, project management and/or information technology, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
+ A master's degree is preferred.
+ Experience with nonprofit communications, public health, health care, and/or global health is preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ A Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field, along with six years of experience in developing marketing and informational materials, writing/research, and project management.
+ A Master's degree is preferred.Experience in global health, public health, or a related field is highly preferred.
+ Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams.
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on cross-cultural sensitivity, storytelling, and advocacy.
+ Proven success in designing and creating effective communication products, website content, and related collateral that resonate with diverse audiences.The ability to synthesize complex, technical information into clear, engaging messages for a variety of target audiences. Advanced slide deck/presentation development skills.The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multicultural setting.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
