    Job Summary and Qualifications

    What qualifications you will need:

    + Under direct supervision of the Oncology Director, the Oncology Admin Coordinator has coordination of the front office and back-office staff, including schedulers and their daily activities.

    + What you will do in this role:

    + You will be the point-of-contact for all Physician offices, referring patients to the Cancer Center for Medical or Radiation Oncology.

    + You will contact the patient and schedule appointments

    + You will obtain medical records prior to patient appointment

    + You will compile all information into the new patient medical record

    + You will coordinate all outgoing consults and referrals

    + You will be the main point-of-contact for the Sarah Cannon facilities at CenterPoint Medical Center for new patient referrals

    + You will coordinate high risk patients and Genetic Counseling appointments

    + You will coordinate with physicians, practice managers, and put together physician call schedules, physician CMEs and physician vacation schedules.

    + You will be the liaison between over-arching practice manager and clinic.

    + You will assist with provider PTO, call schedule, and other duties as assigned

    + You will coordinate scheduling functions for establishes medical and radiation oncology patients for follow ups, labs, chemotherapy, genetic counselors, financial/nurse navigator, as well as outside physician consults, testing, (i.e. Pet/CT/MRI, etc.).

    + You will coordinate reviews for any pre-testing preparation with pts

    + You will fax appropriate documentation and/or orders to receiving department or facility

    + You will coordinate obtaining precertification or preauthorization as required by insurance companies

    What Qualifications You will need:

    + College-level coursework preferred

    + Minimum of 2 years healthcare experience

    + Excellent oral and communication skills, interpersonal skills

    + Demonstrates flexibility to handle multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy and control of detail.

    + Computer skills required

    + High School Graduate / GED
