Job Title: Director, IT Projects
Job Summary:
The Director of IT Projects is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of complex IT initiatives that align with business objectives and drive organizational value. This role oversees the IT Business Systems Analyst team, drives cross-functional project teams, and ensures stakeholder alignment while delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Facilitate the planning and execution of designated projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
+ Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, timelines, and resource plans across multiple, concurrent initiatives.
+ Supervise business systems analysts, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management.
+ Establish and uphold project management standards and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), ensuring best practices are followed, including thorough documentation of functional requirements and the review and execution of quality assurance and user acceptance test plans.
+ Maintains the Azure DevOps dashboard with status, estimated delivery dates, task assignments, and backlog management to ensure project transparency and alignment.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, communicating project status, risks, and outcomes effectively.
+ Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues to ensure successful delivery.
+ Coordinate with SVP, IT Business Systems and business stakeholders to prioritize projects and allocate resources effectively.
+ Ensure compliance with IT governance, security, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
+ Track project performance and generate regular reports and dashboards for project team members and senior leadership.
+ Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the IT project delivery function.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
+ A strong academic foundation in technology and systems is essential.
+ 7+ years of progressive experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership or project management role
+ Proven track record managing mid to large scale, complex IT projects and teams.
+ PMP (Project Management Professional) or formal project management credentials preferred
+ Solid understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), Agile, and Waterfall methodologies
+ Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for multiple concurrent projects
+ Skilled in financial planning and risk mitigation.
+ Excellent leadership and team management skills
+ Able to motivate cross-functional teams and lead through influence and example.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset
+ Exceptional communication skills and overall curious in nature
+ Capable of translating complex technical information for any audience and aligning IT initiatives with business goals.
+ Experience with enterprise-level systems (e.g. Yardi, MRI, RealPage, Dayforce)
+ Proficiency with project and portfolio management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Smartsheet)
