Description

We are looking for a meticulous Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract to hire basis in Minnetonka, Minnesota. In this role, you will oversee payroll operations for multiple locations and ensure accuracy in weekly payroll processing. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic automotive industry environment while leveraging your expertise in payroll systems and practices.

Responsibilities:

• Process weekly payroll for hourly employees across multiple locations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

• Review and upload payroll data from various sources, including timesheets and employee records.

• Handle payroll inquiries through the payroll inbox, providing prompt and thorough responses.

• Collaborate with dealership controllers to ensure proper commission calculations.

• Maintain compliance with payroll regulations across multiple states, including union considerations when applicable.

• Partner with external payroll providers, such as ADP, to address system issues and ensure smooth operations.

• Assist with semi-monthly payroll processing as needed.

• Monitor and verify payroll data for approximately 500-700 employees weekly.

• Utilize spreadsheets and accounting software to perform detailed payroll calculations and reconciliations.

• Support the payroll manager in maintaining accurate records and reporting.

Requirements • Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably in a multistate environment.

• Familiarity with accounting software systems and tools such as ADP or Paycom.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume payroll operations.

• Excellent communication skills to resolve payroll-related inquiries.

• Knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance standards.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in the automotive industry is a plus but not required.
