    Job Overview:

    The Nursing Staff Coordinator ensures adequate nursing unit coverage by coordinating staffing with Clinical Administrators, monitoring and responding to staffing changes, and maintaining scheduling systems. This position plays a critical role in operational continuity, especially for high-need patient coverage, such as those under close observation or suicide precautions.

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    + High school diploma or equivalent

    + Previous experience in healthcare staffing or scheduling

    + Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite

    + Strong communication and problem-solving skills

    + Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

    Preferred:

    + Experience with ADP or equivalent workforce management systems

    + Familiarity with hospital operations and clinical terminology

    Scheduling Requirements:

    + Working Shift: Monday Friday (Every Other Weekend and Holiday Required)

    + Day Shift: 7:00AM-3:30PM

    + Full-Time, 40 Hours Per Week

    Essential Functions:

    + Coordinate daily staffing assignments with Clinical Administrators to ensure adequate coverage across all nursing units

    + Log and communicate staff sick calls, call-outs, and absences promptly and appropriately

    + Ensure continuous and timely coverage for patients requiring close observation, including those on suicide watch

    + Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records using ADP or other staffing software

    + Collaborate with Clinical Administrators to complete and validate shift staffing reports

    + Respond to phone calls professionally and efficiently, fostering effective communication with nursing staff, hospital personnel, and patient families

    + Adjust staffing in real-time based on census changes or emergent needs while maintaining compliance with staffing ratios and regulatory standards

    + Serve as a liaison between nursing administration and unit leaders for staffing-related concerns or emergencies

    + Assist with other administrative duties as assigned to support the Nursing Administration department
